There are reasons for my enthusiasm for St Leonards :-
1) Half the price of Brighton, and twice as nice.
2) Health. More sunshine than most parts of the UK. The further south you go, the more sunshine, see? Think about all the benefits that brings. This link is food for thought. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/scotland/article4753513.ece 8)
3) Wonderful mix of Georgian, Victorian and Art Deco architecture – gives the town a unique feel.
4) 1 hour 29 mins from central London by train. Also direct links Brighton, Ashford and Gatwick. About a year ago I hopped on the train to Gatwick. By sundown I was in Grand Central, New York City. Groovy. 8)
5) Frequently mentioned in the national press as an up and coming town (see right hand panel). An ideal place to invest.
6) Renowned artistic community. www.theartsforum.co.uk 8)
7) New £90 million Hastings College opening in summer 2009. Levels of education will rise. http://www.hastings.ac.uk/SussexCoast/ :)
8 ) Central St leonards regeneration scheme. Scroll down to see earlier post on Kings Road project. 8)
9) Healthy fresh air! Prevailing south-westerlies mean your air is coming off the channel, not an airport or power station for example. It makes sense when you think about it.
10) Excellent prep school in the form of Claremont. This may be higher up the list depending on your views! www.claremontschool.co.uk :)
